TJM Roofing & Building - Fascia & Soffit Repairs & Upgrades

About Fascias & Soffits

We  carry out all fascia and soffit repairs, replacing damaged wood. We also install the new upvc roofline products which have many more advantages over the wooden fascias and soffits.

Fascias

The fascia board is the long, straight board that runs along the lower edge of the roof. The fascia is fixed directly to the roof trusses and usually does all the work of supporting the bottom row of tiles and carrying all the guttering.
This is no mean feat, especially when it is raining hard. In a downpour the roof of a 3-bed semi could be washing several gallons of water per second into its gutters.

Soffits

The soffit board is tucked away under the fascia board. It is usually the board that you see most of from street level, although not all properties have soffit boards.

The soffit can be ventilated to allow the flow of air into the roof area. Alternatively, ventilation can be provided over the top of the fascia board. Many people prefer the latter solution these days. Without adequate ventilation, condensation will form in the roof void increasing the risk of timber decay.

Benefits of UPVC

UPVC fascias and soffits bring new meaning to the term ‘low maintenance’.
The colour extends throughout the entire depth of the material, so they will not fade and do not require painting or repainting.
They are tough on impact, and will not rust, crack, warp or rot.

UPVC fascias & soffits are a particular favourite in areas with harsh weather conditions, because they are water and wind resistant.  Furthermore, they are fire, insect, and vermin resistant.
Finally, uPVC fascias and soffits are lightweight and highly cost effective.

UPVC fascias and soffits are aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
